Tuning

The following places all offer marimba tuning. As a base cost, tuning usually costs around $250 dollars, however you also need to pay for shipping, and if any bars are cracked, then you’re looking at 70ish bucks per bar. .

Doug Demorrow

My only personal experience has been with Doug. He took an old, nasty, beat up, wretched sounding Musser 4.3 octave that my school had for like 18 years and turned it into a fantastic beautiful sounding instrument! He even resealed the bars and everything! He told us he would make it sound better than when we bought it and that’s exactly what he did.

Bill Youhass

Many colleges trust their marimba tunings to Bill at Fall Creek Marimbas. I’ve played on marimbas he’s tuned and they sound great.

Ron Samuels

I’ve only recently discovered that Marimba One has a tuning service for other brand marimbas.  I’m unsure of pricing at this time but I’ll get back to you when I find out.
